Laser Periodontal Therapy

What is Laser Periodontal Therapy?

Laser Periodontal Therapy consists of using a dental laser to help treat periodontal disease. The benefits of the laser in periodontal treatment have been well established.

Why Choose Laser Periodontal Therapy?

There is no cutting and no suturing using the Waterlase I Plus laser. The discomfort following laser periodontal treatment is very slight in comparison to standard periodontal surgery. The laser is more precise and is considered minimally invasive. This means that it is very specific in killing the bacteria and there by products. There is minimum bleeding, swelling and or discomfort because there is no histamine release that would occur in traditional treatments.

Our laser treatments do not include the major loss of gum tissue which is almost always involved in traditional surgery. The gum loss can lead to increased teeth sensitivity caused by exposed roots and other periodontal problems. The laser targets only infected tissue.
