Cosmetic Bonding

Do you have teeth that are chipped or discolored? You might consider cosmetic bonding. This restorative procedure is a great alternative to veneers for teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored, or misarranged.

We will prepare your tooth by applying a bonding agent to the tooth after we have lightly etched the surface. From there, we can apply and sculpt a plastic resin that can be shaped, trimmed, smoothed, and polished, for a significantly improved, natural-looking tooth, usually in a single office visit.

This plastic resin is not as strong as natural teeth, so there is a possibility of staining, chipping, or breaking, but bonding will usually last from three to five years before you will need any repair work done.

The cosmetic bonding procedure is one of many of our cosmetic dentistry services that Dr. Brown and his team provides. Please continue to read down the rest of the page to see the rest of our services. Call today to schedule an appointment and find out if cosmetic bonding, or any of our cosmetic dentistry procedures are right for you.

Crowns & Bridges

If you have suffered extreme damage to a tooth or a number of teeth, then dental crowns and bridges are a good solution to your dental problems. Crowns and bridges act as a long-term dental treatment for badly damaged teeth.

A crown is used as a cap over a single damaged tooth – usually one that has had a root canal. We will first ensure that all decay has been removed and will shape it so that we can fit it with a temporary crown. On your next visit, we will cement the permanent crown into place, for a natural looking tooth that should last about 20 to 30 years.

Bridges are used to replace missing teeth, using abutment teeth at anchors to hold the bridge in place. You can opt for a fixed bridge, which will be placed permanently, or you can get a removable bridge that will attach to the abutment teeth. With bridges, brushing and flossing remain crucial, as without the support of the neighboring teeth, the bridge will be of no use to you.

Full Mouth Restoration

A more costly option involves full mouth restoration, in which we would help with completely restoring all of the teeth in your mouth. If you have lost teeth, have injured or fractured teeth, or experience jaw pain due to bite problems, then full mouth restoration may be the answer for you.

Every mouth is different, which is why Dr. Brown will take the time to fully examine your teeth and recommend the procedure or procedures that are best suited for your specific case. Some of the treatment options include the following:

  • Teeth cleaning (prophylaxis)
  • Crown lengthening to prepare tooth structure for possible crowns or bridges
  • Surgery to reposition the jaw (orthognathic surgery)
  • Contouring of the gum tissue
  • Reduction of natural tooth structure to prepare for crowns, bridges, and veneers
  • Placement of temporary restorations to get you used to your new teeth or bite adjustment
  • Placement of permanent restorations such as crowns, veneers, or bridges
  • Braces to move teeth into the ideal position for reconstruction
  • Bone or soft tissue grafting to increase the stability of your teeth or implants

If you are suffering from jaw pain or have several broken and damaged teeth, then full mouth restoration may be the way to go. Call us today to schedule your appointment.
